On April 25, 2015 Nepal was hit by an earthquake (7.8) followed by an aftershock (7.3) two weeks later.
More than 9,000 people were killed and more than 23,000 were injured by both events.
Laxman Pahari, 13, had a heart defect and was seriously ill at the time of the Nepal's earthquake in 2015.
During the event, he fell from a balcony and the rest of their family house followed. He was found in a coma by his elder sister who pulled him out of the rubble.
Shortly after, a terrain hospital was built near Laxma's home by International NGO, providing medical care to earthquake victims.
Laxman had weeks left to live at that time so his father brought him to see the doctors.
The NGO medical team responded with urgency and assisted Laxman to access medical care he needed to save his life.
After about 6 weeks in a regular hospital Laxman was transferred for a heart surgery in a speciality hospital in Kathmandu.
The surgery was successful.
